My Cleansing and Rehydrating Evening Skincare Routine
step 1: steam and cleanse
The Vanity Planet Facial Steamer has been an absolute lifesaver for me! It’s easy to use and adds a little bit of luxury to my skincare routine, and helps add an extra boost of hydration to my skin. I like to have my steamer on while I’m cleansing.
For cleansing, I use the Beautycounter Lipid Defense Cleansing Oil - this cleansing oil is my absolute favorite cleanser! Most cleansers leave my skin feeling stripped of moisture, but because this one is an oil, it cleanses and moisturizes at the same time. It also smells like a spa and is great at removing eye makeup! I like to rub it on my face first, and then I’ll wet my fingers a bit and continue massaging to activate the cleansing properties.
step 2: dry and moisturize
I like to use a wet microfiber makeup removing cloth to remove the cleanser from my face, because it helps remove any last bits of dirt and makeup that may be remaining. These microfiber cloths from Amazon are super soft and effective!
After I finish cleansing, I follow up with two moisturizing steps:
Serum. I LOVE the Beautycounter All Bright C Serum - it smells bright and citrusy, is extremely hydrating, and brightens my skin tone over time.
Moisturizer. I use Beautycounter’s Countermatch Recovery Sleeping Cream - it has a smooth, thick, velvety texture and helps lock in all the moisture.
step 3: scalp serum
Another issue I have (especially during the winter months) is getting a dry, itchy scalp - I was thrilled when I discovered the Divi Scalp Serum! I had never tried a scalp serum before because my hair can tend to get oily and I didn’t want to contribute to that, but this scalp serum is lightweight and not greasy at all - it creates an invigorating tingling feeling after you apply it that feels SO refreshing, and I’ve definitely noticed it helping my scalp feel less itchy and dry. It also stimulates hair growth and helps remove product buildup.
