2023 Spring Capsule Wardrobe
Spring is here and so is my very first capsule wardrobe! I had so much fun going through my closet and putting this collection together for you.
I created this capsule wardrobe to be a good starting place if you are in the process of rebuilding your wardrobe and you don’t know which pieces to get. The items in this capsule are all timeless, classic essentials that are extremely versatile and will stand the test of time season after season. A lot of these items can be used in the summer and fall as well!
I am sharing some examples of how different pieces can be styled throughout this post, but I always encourage you to try styling different items different ways that feel good for your style - and while my pieces are neutral, if you like to incorporate color into your wardrobe, you should definitely do so! I’d recommend playing with color with the basic items (tees and tanks) and maybe even looking for a statement jacket or blazer.

Basic Tanks
Tank tops are always a great wardrobe staple - they are the perfect building blocks for a great outfit, and there are a lot of different options depending on your style! I prefer to stick with neutral colors like gray, tan, black, and white, and I love ribbed crew neck tanks and square neck crop tanks - but you can experiment with different styles and colors to go with your aesthetic!

Black Bodysuit With Shoulder Pads
You can never go wrong with a black t-shirt or bodysuit, and I love the elevated addition of shoulder pads on this one! It gives a chic edge to a classic wardrobe staple, and is incredibly versatile. This style is available in lots of colors, but the black is my favorite!
Classic White T-shirt
Another wardrobe staple that will stand the test of time! Finding the perfect white tee can be a challenge - I went through several before I finally found my favorite one from Express (which is sadly no longer available). I prefer a slightly cropped, relaxed fit, but feel free to explore different styles! I’ve linked some good options below.

Oversized Button Down
Button-downs are always on trend, and oversized ones are particularly trendy this spring! I love this striped one from Target, but you might want to try a plain or blue-striped button-down if this one isn’t your style.

Lightweight Crewneck Sweater
A lightweight crewneck sweater is a great staple, especially for transitioning from cooler weather to warmer weather! It provides some warmth if there is a cool breeze, but is still light and feels like spring. This sweater comes in LOTS of colors, so feel free to get all your favorites!

Graphic Sweatshirt
Graphic sweatshirts are one of the more “trendy” items in this capsule, but there are so many options to choose from to suit your style! It’s a great layering piece and is also perfect for days that you’re feeling a little more comfy or wanting to lounge around the house.
Faux Leather Jacket
This is an item that is absolutely worth investing in! When you get your hands on a good one, it can last for years, and I have never known a leather jacket to be out of style. This one from BLANKNYC is my absolute favorite - the all-black detailing makes it so it can go with anything!
Oversized Denim Jacket
Denim jackets are making a major comeback, and this year it’s all about being oversized! This one from H&M is SO good - it is soft, comfy, and the wash is stunning! It’s a little more pricey, but this is a good investment piece since it will take you into fall and even warmer winter days.
Oversized Beige Blazer
You can never go wrong with a classic blazer! All my favorite blazers are from H&M, and this taupe one is no exception - it’s probably my favorite one so far!
For more flair, experiment with a brightly-colored blazer or one with a statement pattern! I’ve linked some good ones below.

Trench Coat
The trench coat is another closet staple that you’ll find yourself reaching for again in the fall! It’s perfect for those cooler spring days. This is a piece that’s definitely worth investing in if you can, because it is always in style every spring!
I’ve had mine from London Fog for years, but I’ve linked some very similar styles below - I ordered all of them to make sure the quality is up to par and they are all amazing, but the Amazon trench by Orolay is my favorite!

Light-Wash Jeans
Good denim is another item that’s definitely worth investing in - these jeans from Everlane are a recent find for me, but I absolutely love them! I’ve bought a lot of denim over the years, and I can definitely attest that buying high-quality (and typically more rigid) denim gives you the best bang for your buck.
I have been very into straight-leg jeans lately and they are very trendy right now, but if you’re not comfortable with that trend, stick with what you feel good in! Everlane, Express, Gap, Abercrombie, and AGOLDE are typically my favorite brands for denim.

White Jeans
White jeans just scream spring! For a more casual feel, I prefer slightly destroyed white denim - but if you want a more tailored feel, go with a non-ripped pair!

Beige Trousers
Trousers are big this spring, and they aren’t just for workwear! I love that you can dress these up or down, and they look super polished and chic while also being incredibly comfortable! This pair comes in lots of colors and is super affordable.
Denim Shorts
I am so excited to pull out my denim shorts now that the weather is getting warmer!
Disclaimer: These denim shorts come with a steep price tag, but let me tell you they are 1000% worth the investment! I have gone through so many pairs of bad denim shorts, and these are the BEST. They have a longer inseam which I love, and the fit, fabric, and quality are incredible.
Accessories + Shoes
Don’t forget about accessories and shoes - they are what make an outfit complete! These are all the accessories and shoes that I plan on using on repeat this spring (and honestly, probably in all seasons).
White Sneakers: Every woman needs a pair of basic white tennis shoes. They are the perfect casual footwear staple, and they go with everything!
Slide Sandals: Great for those warmer spring days! I bought these from Amazon last year and they are amazing.
Nude Heels: Every woman needs a pair of nude heels for dressier outfits and date nights!
Mules or Ballet Flats: I love mules because they are so versatile - you can dress them up or down! If you don’t like mules, go with a classic pair of pointed-toe ballet flats instead.
Printed Crossbody Bag: This bag feels designer and chic, and it’s also perfect for date nights and more dressy outfits! I also love how easily it elevates a basic outfit like a tank top and shorts.
Quilted Crossbody Bag: I’m not a huge fan of big purses, so I love this quilted crossbody bag! It comes with interchangeable straps, so you can dress it up or down - the thick strap gives it a more sporty feel which I love for casual outfits.
Layered Necklace Set: This necklace set from Amazon is super affordable and cute! They have lots of different combinations depending on your style - I love that it comes in a set, so you can wear them all together, or break them up to be worn individually!
Faux Suede Baseball Cap: I’ve had this one from Amazon for a few years and it’s amazing! The “beige” color is a really pretty cream color, and it goes with everything.
